Burundi is arising from twelve years of civil war and is currently listed as the poorest country in the world by some sources. There have been hundreds of thousands killed and the country's infrastructure has suffered greatly. The result is many widows and orphans around the country, those with the least & who suffer the most. Over 50% of Burundi's 8.2 million population is under 15 years old and malnutrition, malaria & AIDS are severe problems.
As we reach out in God's grace to the spiritual needs of the people, Allow The Children is also involved in assisting with physical needs where God directs our work. Food and clothing were among the first needs to be met for our partner ministries, including the blind school, the deaf school and the baby rescue center. As our local church ministry continues to grow ATC is also assisting many church families with food and clothing.
Medical care is unobtainable for most of the children & families we minister to, so ATC often provides help with treatment of illnesses & injuries of babies & children in our program. Donations to the Burundi Ministry Fund allow us to fill the stomachs & clothe the bodies of many in need as we also offer them the love & grace of the God who empowers us to do His work.
Sponsor a Child: Jesus said "Allow the children to come unto
Me" and you can bless a needy child with that
opportunity plus food, clothing & schooling,
all for just $24 monthly. You will soon receive a profile of your child
with a picture, then 1-2 times per year you will
receive a letter from your Burundi child. |
Food for the malnourished:
Hunger is widespread especially among the
young and the elderly. Malnutrition leads to
other physical problems and eventually, death.
$20 will feed a family for a month.
$55 will provide a 120 lb bag of beans.
$85 will provide a 120 lb bag of rice. |
Clothing & Hygiene:
Many children (and adults) cannot afford
adequate clothing or soap to wash.
$150 will purchase about 200 pieces of good, used clothing.
$2 will provide a pair of flip-flops.
$40 will provide soap for 50 families |
Bibles:
Usually less than 5% of the members in any particular church have Bibles. Many do
read and greatly desire to know God's Word.
$4 will provide a Bible in Kirundi or French |
