God's people truly live by faith in Burundi and have persevered through many, great trials. There is a joy & freedom in their worship that is truly refreshing and powerful. Church Family Programs

Buriri Pastor's Children

The mountain area of Buriri is a very poor area of Burundi but there are numerous small churches scattered throughout the region. When a local man is called by the church to lead the congregation he must leave his fields each week to carry out his church duties, and he must take time to study & pray. The pastor's family is left to work the fields in his absence but children cannot do the work of a man, so slowly the family slips backwards as they have lower crop production and thus, less money for family needs.

These men lead congregations of 150-400 and are responsible for Sunday services, two weekly Bible studies and prayer meetings, plus observance of church ordinances, weddings, funerals, etc. Every man we have met is faithful in his ministry so we are excited by your commitment to sponsor a child in the families of these dear servants of God.

Allow The Children has started a new child sponsor program in this area to assist these men of God and their families by supporting one child in the family for $24 per month. Child Sponsorship in a Buriri pastor's home will bless the entire family since these families live on such small amounts of money. Your monthly donation as a sponsor will provide the means for the child to attend school and there will be some left over to help the family with other basic expenses.

Child sponsorship will strengthen the family and help give the children a stable environment in which to grow mentally, physically & spiritually, and to become productive members of Burundian society. The financial gifts and prayers of sponsors are tangible fruits of the love & grace of God, and demonstrate His approval as we join together to allow the children to come unto Him.
