Our mission is to be used by God as He answers the cry of the lost and helpless children of the world.
(Psalm 72:12-14)
Tibet is just north of the Himalayas. As the highest inhabited area it is called the "Roof Top of the world."
After China took control in the 1950's, refugee camps formed in the mountains of Nepal, where a steady flow of refugees to this day continue coming.
Tibetan Buddhism is the religion devoutly practiced by almost 100% of Tibetans. Most have never seen or heard of another Tibetan of any other faith.
Where We Serve
Our Tibetan ministry is among the displaced Tibetan people. Many of the children and their parents were born in Nepal, but remain a separate ethnic people group within Nepal-clinging to their own culture.
Lhakpa's mother died. Her father works as a (live in) house servant and he is not able to keep a child with him, but he also did not want Lhakpa. She lived with a relative for a while, but they are very poor and not able to meet her needs.
Lhakpa might have been abandoned on the streets, but someone brought her to one of our children's homes. With a sponsor's help, we can provide food, clothing, medical care and school fees for this little girl.
