Guatemala Ministry
Our mission is to be used by God as He answers the cry of the lost and helpless children of the world.
(Psalm 72:12-14)
Guatemala is a mostly mountainous country except for the south coastal plains. The country has suffered from hurricanes, major earthquakes, volcanic activity and civil war which resolved in 1996.Guatemala has the lowest literacy rate in Central America. Spanish is the main language, but 21 different indigenous Mayan languages are also spoken. Roman Catholicism is the main religion.
Where We Serve
This little boy is crawling out of the box. We want to help many children to crawl out of boxes and into a wonderful new life where their needs are met in this world and they are taught from God's Word about how to be with Him in all of eternity.
In Guatemala, we work with a partner ministry to help people in profound poverty and also to share the gospel with them.
Our projects include feeding centers, distributions of clothing and supplies, Bible distributions, VBS programs for children.
We take groups several times in a year to help in the orphanage and nutrition center and for building projects. We have completed homes for needy families and one for a pastor's family. We have helped with building a hospital. We have painted and dug ditches. There are also opportunities for ministry in the local churches-- preaching and programs for the children.
