Rainbow Outreach Homes Burundi, Africa
a ministry partner of Allow The Children
The Rainbow Centre (RC) opened its doors in April 2002 for outreach to abandoned, HIV+ and malnourished children ages newborn to 2 years. This has been a miracle ministry of the Lord, a vision He placed in the minds & hearts of a group of believers and birthed by His grace & provision.
There are three facets of ministry:
- Arms of Love Baby Home
A rescue center giving love, nourishment & medical care to abandoned babies while searching for extended family, foster care or adoptive families for the child.
- Rainbow Centre Clinic
Through a grant from the U.S. Department of Defense a 2-story clinic/office has been constructed to serve the community. Donations are needed to equip the clinic and open it to serve the many sick.
- Twizere Community Project
Seeking to strengthen malnourished babies by providing milk & porridge to the child, and offering the caregivers spiritual guidance, medical & legal help, plus food and monetary support as possible.
General donations may be designated for Rainbow Centre to help in any of the projects listed above.
Child Sponsors of the Rainbow Centre specifically help 'graduates' of the Centre, young children who have been through the Arms of Love Baby Home and are now living in foster homes we have named Rainbow Outreach Homes (ROH). The ROH caregivers are mostly widows, deeply committed Christian women who, although they live in true poverty, feel a calling to be a "Mama" to a child who has none. Sponsorship will strengthen child & "Mama" in these very special relationships, and enable the child to attend school.
