Sarah Children's Home Nepal
a ministry partner of Allow The Children
Baby Sapana was abandoned before birth, by a mother who planned to leave her to die if she was a girl, but would have kept a son. When the pastor who operates Sarah Children's Home learned of this, he went to the village and found the mother in labor. The baby was placed in his arms, unwashed and cord uncut from the birth.
Girls are abused and abandoned more often than boys in Nepal and are so much more vulnerable when left on their own. Twenty precious little girls are safe and loved because they came to Sarah Children's Home. Most are from Hindu families where they might never have heard of Jesus without this ministry. Girls in the poor village areas often receive no education at all. They might be given less food and poorer quality food than their brothers. Arranged marriage as early as 13 years is still common. Sarah Home girls are going to school and with the help of tutors are leading their classes academically. They have plans and dreams of becoming teachers and nurses and other careers. Our dream is to return godly women to their villages as witnesses for Jesus Christ.
Sarah Home Kitchen Project
A kitchen addition is needed for Sarah Home. The small kitchen inside the house is inadequate for so many and the heat from cooking indoors in the long summer months is often unbearable. Generous gifts have been received, but building costs are rising quickly in Nepal. The funds are finished, but the building stands only about half complete. Cooking for more than 25 people is now being done on a small makeshift grill.
