Koinonia Patan Church Nepal
a ministry partner of Allow The Children
When I visit each of our church programs in Nepal, I try to meet with each child for at least a few minutes. I write an update on his/her progress and take a new picture. As Jina's turn came to meet with me, she moved shyly to my side and whispered in perfect English, "Thank you for my school." It was a sponsor back in America who made it possible for Jina to go to school. I was just the vessel God used between the two, but what a privilege it is.
Jina and her family attend Koinonia Patan Church, a large, strong church in the capital city of Nepal. In obedience to God's call, her father joined a Bible training program conducted by the church and prepared for a life of ministry. After he completed the training, he was assigned an unreached area to begin work. As he leads new believers in a cell group which may someday form a church, he is paid a small survival stipend through the mother church. Jina's father and many others like him have given up everything, including education for their children and even basic needs to serve the Lord. Jina has a sponsor who provides for her needs and pays her school fees.
Many children of faithful believers who sacrifice more than we will ever know, cannot go to school for want of the (average) $5 per month fees. It is common for families to pull an older child out of school so that a younger one can get a few years of education because they cannot send them both.
Allow The Children helps families chosen by the pastor who need help meeting the needs of their children. Most are pastors of daughter churches, evangelists, like Jina's father or widows.
